One of the most popular items that many people seek out to find is vintage fashion and costume jewelry.
It became very popular during the 1930’s when it was to be used with a particular outfit and not to be passed down to other family members.

Jewelry has been around for centuries adorning the bodies of humans from every culture around the world. It was used to enhance the body, but it was also used by different cultures for other reasons such as symbolism and protection.
Vintage fashion and costume jewelry has become the hottest statement during today’s consumers. Many celebrities are sporting attractive and over sized creations, that are inspired by the 1940s. It’s very much in vogue to wear sparkly, costume jewelry, to enhance that special garment that is worn.
Jewelry was first found to exist in Africa dating back 75,000 years ago, where there has been evidence found that many of the people would wear snail shells, or pieces of ostrich egg shells.
For thousands of years, jewelry was made from different materials that were found in the area where people lived such as bone, stones, teeth or shell. In today’s society, jewelry is more popular then ever, to add beauty or color, to a person’s body or wardrobe.
It was used for fashion reasons only and when new styles became popular, the consumer would just repurchase another costume jewelry item.
Most vintage fashion and costume jewelry were made from such materials as semi-precious gems, faux gems, beads and cut glass. Many of these pieces of jewelry became to the forefront during the Victorian era and were popular up to the 1960s.
During the 1940s and 1050s, the costume jewelry, was attractive and beautiful that caught the eyes of many. The designers during this period of time of the post war, had to create pieces of jewelry that were inexpensive and attractive, allowing men and women to be able to enjoy it.
During this time period, there were many great designers that created costume jewelry. Many of the designers that were the leaders in fashion were, Miriam Haskell, Coco Chanel, and Elsa Schiaparelli.
Many of these pieces of vintage fashion and costume jewelry, was made from brightly colored stones. The work on the jewelry pieces was very detailed and was created with nature in mind. Chanel was the most popular with many celebrities, using, beads, faux pearls and corals.
Adding a vintage broach to a hat, or long teardrop earrings, can take a boring outfit, to the forefront of fashion.
When it comes to wearing vintage fashion and costume jewelry, you don’t have to be a celebrity or have great financial wealth. Many pieces of costume jewelry, are very reasonably priced, and will have people guessing on how much you paid for it.
The craftsmanship and uniqueness of these jewelry pieces can make them an item that is not only collectable but a great investment. Wearing these pieces of jewelry is a wonderful way to reminisce of an era that has gone by and to have years of enjoyment from admiring the beauty of these vintage pieces.
