Who Is This Young Jewelry Designer?

A young jewelry designer by the name of Lora Leedham is taking the UK by storm with her beautiful and unusual jewelry designs.

This talented 21-year-old lady from Birmingham is putting her own unique twist on making unusual and classy pieces that are inspired by nature.

Lora has a design studio that is located in the Birmingham’s Jewelry district where there are numerous other jewelry shops and design studios. Here she creates jewelry pieces that are unique and contemporary.

Growing up Lora always had a flair for design and would create different designs for shoes.

Later she attended college in the West Midlands and studied design.

Lora studied design as a whole, but her strong point was in painting and life drawing.

She decided that she wanted to do interior design, but doing a project one day on jewelry, changed her course in study.

She used old pieces of metal from forks and other recycled items and made them into pieces of art.

Her classmates and teachers were so impressed they asked if they could purchase her pieces.

She realized that her talent was something special, so she went to Dudley Council, where they referred her to Princes Trust. They then helped her to start her own jewelry business.

To show her thank you for the Princes Trust for their help, she decided to write a letter to Camilla Parker Bowles, offering to design a piece of jewelry for her to wear to the Princes Trust celebrations.

Camilla accepted and wore a beautiful contemporary choker with green pearls and interlaced silver balls that Lora had designed especially for her and the occasion.

From that day forward, this young entrepreneur’s career has propelled into the forefront of jewelry designers.  She has received attention by the prestige and highly recognized magazine Vogue, and was also involved in London fashion week.

Lora was also a finalist in “Young Entrepreneur of the Year”. This young designer uses her creativity, to design not just a piece of jewelry, but a piece of art.

She sketches and uses materials to make the design, before actually making it into the jewelry. With this in mind, Lora has created one of her well-known signature designs of a caged heart.

This beautiful necklace is made of pieces of Venetian glass that have a sheath of twisted silver wire around it.  Each piece is unique and different, which has become Lora’s signature seller.

It takes several hours for Lora to produce each piece and are hand carve, which makes not one of them the same. The future looks bright for this young entrepreneur jewelry designer.

She has commitment and is dedicated to her artwork.  In a span of just a short period of time, this young lady has gone from selling pieces of jewelry that were made from recycled metals to friends and family, to designing jewelry for Royalty.

With Lora’s creativity and unique design for jewelry, she is destined to become a highly recognized designer for celebrities and the rich and famous.
